One of the largest churches in the capital’s historic center, the Iglesia de Santo Domingo also has its own quiet park-like Atreus. The church was built in a neoclassical style and features several images of the Virgin of the Rosary. Its main festival is held in October and is accompanied by a popular fair, with gambling, street food and fun rides for the kids. Iglesia de Santo Domingo was built between 1792 and 1808 and despite having suffered damage from multiple earthquakes it has been well repaired and today is in good condition.
