Museo Nacional De Arte Moderno - Museum Guatemala City - Guatemala

The Museum of Modern Art was named after the Maestro Carlos Merida, one of Guatemala’s most infamous contemporary artists. Merida’s work can be found at the heart of the museum and is surrounded by temporary exhibitions by other well known artists. A while back visitors were treated to a display of Picasso’s imaginary portraits, so big names are frequently shown at the museum. Besides various exhibitions throughout the year the Museo de Arte Moderno also hosts a number of cultural events.
