Museo Nacional De Historia Natural Jorge Ibarra - Museum Guatemala City - Guatemala

Created in 1950 by naturalist Jorge Ibarra, this museum seeks to collect and preserve examples of Guatemala’s flora and fauna. The focus is clearly one of learning and conservation. Displays include ‘The Origin of the Universe’ and ‘The Origin of Life on Earth’ featuring mineral paleontology, birds, reptiles, mammals and butterflies. There is also a small botanical garden where you can walk around and sample some of Guatemala’s natural history.
