Things To See And Do

The only reason to spend a night in Santa Lucía is to make the most of this region's interesting history. Key hotspots are the two museums and the massive stone carvings still in situ at Bilbao and El Baúl Hilltop. An unhurried tour of all four sites would take about half a day. While maps indicate that there is much more to be seen in the area, exploring is not welcomed and much of the land is on private property.

The church next door to the central park is worth a pass-by, if only to view the virgin holding her eyes (unfortunately they’re in a box) but aside from that the town centre holds little of interest. For a post sight-seeing refreshing dip, tourists with a car could drive to Siquinalá to look for the waterfalls, otherwise head to Hotel Santiaguito and chill out by their pool.
