San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala
Spa/Hot Springs
V!VA User‘s Description
This is a must-do if you are staying in San Marcos, to experience the tradition of the Mayan people first-hand. The sauna is a concrete dome with a wood fire-warmed metal drum inside, on which you throw water to heat things up. The unique side to this sauna is in the sugar, which you smear all over your body and wait for it to melt into a syrup. Dash into the cold shower to wash it off and you will feel so very relaxed.
