Hiking
This walk offers a birds-eye view of the area, but don't expect an idyllic
picture-postcard vista because the town gets in the way. Head
through the streets and you will reach a path up the tree-filled hill which
leads to the viewpoint, where you can overlook Volcan San Pedro, the bay and
the concrete mass of Santiago. Ask the guide to take the route down through
the more traditional part of town and take a poignant look at one area where
the 2005 mudslides decimated the community. The tourist centre is now closed
but guides can be found around the dock area.
Time: One hour. A guide will cost you around Q30-40.
