If you choose one ruin to visit choose this one as the earthquake-hit building is probably the most impressive in town, although it is expensive for the ten minutes it takes to fully look around. Built over seven years between 1701 to 1708, it survived just 65 years before being ripped apart by the earthquake of 1973.
Most walls, a nice archway entrance to the original church and a staircase to nowhere still stand, but huge thick chunks of roof and walls lay scattered all around the site.
