There are two internet cafes quite close to each other. Powernet, on the north-eastern corner of the square, is Q3/$0.40 for 15 minutes, Q8/$1 for an hour, open 9a.m. – 9.45p.m. They have skype installed but you need your own earphones. There is also an Internet café inside the small shopping mall, next to Café Martell. The Post Office is near the larger market hall, in the north east corner of the town, on 10a Avenida and 2 a Calle.
There are a number of ATMs in Chiquimula: you’ll find a Banrural and a BAM on the north-western corner of the square, as well as a Banco G&T on 7a Avenida next to La Parillada de Calero, so you should not struggle to get cash.
If you’re sick there is a good 24-hour pharmacy on 8a Avenida, between 4a and 5a Calles, tel: 502-7942-5353. There is also a doctors’ surgery on 3a Calle, between 10a and 11a Avenida.
