Hotel Gran Chorti - Hotel Esquipulas - Guatemala

This large white hotel on the road coming into town is hard to miss and is the most resort-like hotel around. It is well-run and spacious, with a big bar and restaurant serving good seafood dishes at Q75-225. If you’re looking for somewhere to escape and cool down the pool and pool-side area are a pleasant distraction. Doubles, triples and quadruples range between Q275-570 ($34-70) and the presidential suite is Q1200 ($150) but be sure to check the room first as some are definitely better than others. There is also internet and free parking, cable T.V. and no charge for all credit cards. Being a kilometer out of town is a slight draw-back but the hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the basilica from 8am – 7pm.
