Boat trip from Rio Dulce to Livingston

This is a great trip that heads from the yachtie heaven of Rio Dulce and into El Golfete, past banks full of impressive houses and small flat islands of untouched bird-filled jungle. The most impressive part of the journey, however, is the run through a tall gorge, where the grey rock walls are covered in dense jungle foliage so impressive the site was used to film the original Tarzan movie. The trip ends in the little port town of Livingston, or can be taken the opposite way. Daily boats run 9.30am and 1.30pm from both ends, but it is possible to catch other launches depending on people traffic, they go when they are full.

Cost: About $10 one-way.
