The unassuming and very welcoming Sundog café and bar, found down a lane on the right just after coming off the big bridge – with the brightly painted Beetle stationed out front, is something of an expat magnet day and night. It’s great for a cold beer in the shade, fresh coffee, fantastic sandwiches at Q28-34 (made by Tom, the Swiss owner, barman and chef). There is also plenty of conversation in English, great for gathering travel info, and a free book exchange.
