Even farther round the coast from Hotel Ecológico Salvador Gaviota, passed Playa Quehueche, five kilometers (3 miles) west of the town center, are the very impressive set of waterfalls called Los Siete Altares. There are peaceful green pools to relax in, away from the hustle of town, and you can have lunch or a beer at the café where you pay to enter. You can walk here yourself, following the beach round the coast and just before the beach ends taking a path left up the hill. If you prefer you can take an organized group tour from Happy Fish Travel for $10/person, which includes town sights and a jungle walk. Entrance closes at 5p.m.
