Petencito Zoo

Not far down the shore from the village of San Miguel is the Petencito Zoo. It gives visitors the chance to see a collection of local animals like jaguars, monkeys and macaws. In addition, the visitors can see some of the beautiful regional flora. For people looking for some fun, there are some giant waterslides for splashing in the lake. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., the entrance costs $3. To get there, you need to rent a boat for $20 per group (max 15 people).
