Hotel Petén is a modest brick and stucco building, with 20 nicely decorated rooms, all of which have bathrooms, air conditioners and WiFi access. Ask for a room on the top floors with private balcony and a view of the lake. The rooms without views don’t have much light. There is an indoor courtyard with tropical plants, a swimming pool, jacuzzi and a lakeside restaurant open from 7 a.m. till 10 p.m.
