Cafe Yaxha

Opened in 2004 by a German couple passionate about archeology, this restaurant-café is a great place to try tasty traditional Guatemalan dishes. It’s cozy and the walls are decorated with pictures, maps and drawings from different Mayan sites in Petén. There are also books on Mayan culture and archeology that you can read while eating. Dishes include tacos, chicken and traditionally cooked fish filets. Vegetarian meals are also served.
