Further north of Templo El Calvario is a densely forested nature reserve that acts as a retreat from the city. This 84-hectare national park is close to the city center, and has extensive walking trails, a campground ($2.50 per person for camping), and BBQ facilities. You might find peace at the calm lagoon and lookout point. There are also shaded picnic areas and a playground for the young ones. The park is rather quiet, even on a weekend. Always try to go in a group as mugging incidents have been reported here.
