Cuatro Caminos, located in the department of Totonicapán, is basically an important intersection in which the four roads or “Cuatro Caminos” head off to different cities. From Cuatro Caminos, the road to the southeast goes to Guatemala City. To the southwest, Quetzaltenango. To the northwest, Huehuetenango and the Mexican border. The last road, to the northeast, leads to Totonicapán.
There is not much to see or do in Cuatro Caminos. There are some shabby restaurants where you can get a bite to eat and several vendors selling fruit, candy, etc. Mainly it is a place to change buses. Be careful as petty crimes are common in Cuatro Caminos.
