Parque Central - City Plaza Huehuetenango - Guatemala

At the heart of Huehuetenango is the parque central. Carefully tended gardens surround an old colonial era fountain, making this park one of the country’s prettier central plazas. Visitors can enjoy more than just the plaza itself as there are several important buildings surrounding it that boast fine architecture. To the south, is a beautiful old neo-classical church; the Catedral Templo de la Inmaculada Concepción, to the west is the 19th century Municipalidad or City Hall and to the east the Gobernación Departmental building is home to a splendid 20th century clock tower.
