Trama Textile - Shopping Quetzaltenango - Guatemala

If you’re looking for beautiful woven souvenirs, go to Trama Textile. One block north of Parque Central, inside Santa Maria, Trama is a women's weaving association representating seventeen cooperatives from five regions. Created in 1988 to support the families after the Civil War, its
mission is to offer training, support and work for fair wages to
women and to maintain and develop their art, design and culture. Open Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., the shop has a large selection of bags, scarves, tablecloths and other souvenirs. Weaving classes are offered for $4.50/hour and there are
volunteer opportunities.
