Cumanchúm / Tojcunenchén - Other Activity Todos Santos Cuchumatan - Guatemala

Taking the track which climbs up behind the church will lead you to the ceremonial site of Tojcunenchén. There are only a few grassy mounds here but it is still used for traditional Maya rituals and you will no doubt find incense and evidence of sacrificed animals around about. It is a pretty place offering fantastic views of the Chemel mountain peak (ruined only slightly by the radio mast on top). Remember to be respectful as this is not a tourist site; the citizens of greater Todos Santos are among the few who still keep to the Mayan 260-day Tzolkin calendar.
