When To Go

Being 2,740 meters (8,990 ft) above sea level, Todos Santos can get pretty cold in winter, so it is advised to take some warm sweaters and also rain gear, especially if you want to go hiking. The weather can be damp and foggy all-year-round.

The obvious time to visit is for the annual All Saints’ Day festival on November 1. The raucous fiesta turns what is usually a rather peaceful, workaday sort of place into an unrecognizable party town. The three-day celebrations include horse-racing, music and dancing at the cemeteries and lots of drinking.

Visiting on the weekend is a good choice, as you will experience the lively Saturday market, as well as the usual relaxed pace of life here.
