An hour's bumpy drive north of Copan you can find pleasant hot springs. Entrance is 30 L, or you can shell out 200 L for access to the spa, a far nicer experience. If you head down to the river take care when getting in – the water from the spring is hot enough to inflict a serious burn. Look for a small pool just downstream where the spring mixes with cooler river water: this is the place to hangout.

Tour agencies offer trips to the hot springs every morning and afternoon for $10 per person, or you can charter your own bus from ViaVia for $30 flat-rate to go and return. If you can get a group together this is a much better option.
