Aficionados of religious architecture are bound to be a little disappointed in San Pedro Sula. Considering that the city dates back nearly five centuries, its two cathedrals are both rather unimpressive. The main Catedral on Parque Central only dates back to 1949 and is drably functional. There is another major church, the Iglesia San Vicente de Paul, on the southwest edge of Avenida Circunvalacion. Although this is marginally nicer than the Catedral, it's not worth the trip unless you really love churches.
