Location:
Copan Ruinas, Honduras
Museum
This museum is a good place to learn about the Mayan culture and, if possible, it is worth going before heading to the ruins so you can spot more while you are there. It takes about one-and-a-half hours to do the museum properly, although currently only the first half of the exhibits have English translation. There are original stelae, pottery and offerings, skeletons, jade-filled teeth, jade carvings and interesting information on the Mayan calendar and deciphering the hieroglyphics.
Getting There
