When to Go to the Bay Islands
The rainy season on the islands generally runs from September to February, so sunbathers might want to reconsider taking a Christmas vacation here. Summers are a better bet. February to September also roughly coincides with whale shark season, though the mammoth fish can be quite unreliable (see our Whale Sharks entry for more details).
Tropical storms sometimes pass through in September, but this shouldn't be a big concern.
