Kayaking is another popular water sport around Utila. Many dive shops will offer free kayaks to divers who have signed up for a course. It's best to look into this, if you're keen on both activities.

In addition to pleasant trips along the beaches, it's possible to kayak all the way to the north side via The Canal, which extends from Blue Bayou off of the Lower Lagoon. However, this depends on seasonal rainfall, so it's best to ask your rental agency if and where kayaking is possible before embarking.
