This involves taking one of the numerous advertised boats out of the harbor to the picturesque cays at the southern tip of the island, but that in itself can be challenging. Finding a boat that is going is not always easy, but Bundu's Cafe assists in organising groups to make it cheaper - just drop them a refundable deposit - or Morgan's Dive Centre can also point you in the right direction. Water Cay is an uninhabited island (except for its useful toilet!) with nice coral to its western side and sweeping, if a little narrow, sandy beaches filled with palms. Pigeon is the opposite, cluttered with buildings so you can hardly see a patch of land, but it is a good place to stop for a fishburger lunch on the way back. If the winds are kicking, make sure you strip to your swimmers and put your camera under the boat's bow cover for the return journey to Utila because you will be drenched.
