The Utila Center for Marine Ecology is an NGO that specializes in marine research. In addition to information on large fish and cetaceans, they keep a map out front listing recent sightings of large marine animals, a useful stopping point if you want to find the hotspots. The center also features weekly presentations about marine life meant to help give you a better understanding of what you're seeing on those scuba and snorkeling trips.
