The best trekking options are in the Bejuco area, a birder's paradise with toucans, parrots, and many other beautiful species. Many tour operators feature guided hikes, including an optional overnight camping stay for $106. This allows you to be there for the crack of dawn, when birds are at their most active. The best season for birdwatching is April, when the creatures are mating.
