For whatever reason, La Ceiba has very few hotels that offer a seaside view. Hotel Olas del Mar does, which explains why you're paying so much for their large but spare and uninspiring rooms. The hotel is quite clean, if a bit dull. By far its best feature are sunny, seaward looking balconies. Hot water, air conditioning and cable television all come standard –the massive price differences come with the number of beds.

Hotel Olas del Mar
I really liked my stay in this hotel - it is very clean, has wireless internet, airconditioning, cable, and doors that open out onto a balcony that overlooks the beach. It's located on the beach near the center of town, so for swimming I would recommend walking a bit down shore to where its less crowded, etc. There's a beautiful lagoon if you go far enough. My single cost me 490 L. (about 25 dollars)
