Transportation
Utila Town is exceedingly small. Getting around is even further simplified by the fact that nearly all restaurants, hotels and dive shops are located on the long Main Street that runs parallel to the beach. Most of the main dive shops are on the right as you get off of the dock. Since Main Street slopes slightly upward that direction will be referred to as “up” from the crossroads. To the left, where Tranquila, Coco Loco's and the unaffiliated hotels are located will be referred to as “down” from the crossroads. If you go straight ahead from the dock, you'll find yourself on Cola de Mico Road heading north.
To make finding your way around even easier, you'll almost certainly be handed one (or more) maps as you disembark the ferry. These are printed by the various dive shops. It's interesting to note that though they include complete listings of restaurants and internet cafes, the maps hilariously omit any mention of competing outfits, utterly disregarding their existence.
