Included in the $2.50 entrance fee, the site museum at the entrance is well worth half an hour of your time for its detailed explanations on Toltec politics, society and history, although non-Spanish speakers will have to find a sympathetic translator. The site’s well preserved chac-mool is on display here, as well as chipped off bits of Atlantes, sculptures and friezes. The museum has wheelchair ramps, a gift shops and surprisingly nice toilets. Written exhibits well outnumber anything else though, so kids will probably be itching to leave and start racing around the pyramids.
