When you enter the dark, cavernous confines of Hostal de Zocalo, the first impression is that it´s vaguely institutional. That said, the location is perfect; as the name suggests, the hotel is right on the main square and some rooms have views of the portales and work-shirking students within. Hostal del Zocalo is a very good deal for groups of up to 6 people as the rooms are more like mini apartments, with up to two bedrooms, a fridge, TV, sink, and living room. Discounts are available during the week and if you call to make a reservation by telephone.
