Hosteria del Sol

Clean, central and cheerful, Hosteria del Sol lives up to its name with a sunny, traditional décor built around tile, pottery and folksy paintings. Situated just steps from the Palacio de Cortés and the cafés and street vendors of the Plaza de Armas, the hotel has only six rooms. (Three have private bathrooms with showers.) Call to reserve, bring cash to pay the bill, and don't expect breakfast or much English. The hotel bar is open Thursday through Saturday.

Getting There:
The Hosteria del Sol islocated on a smallalley off Hidalgo Avenue, about a half block west of the Palacio de Cortés. There is a large sign hanging at the corner of Hidalgo and the alley to pointthe way.
