Museum

By Erin Helland

If you are bringing children with you to Mexico City, a visit to Papalote Museum is a must. Filled with over 350 different types of exhibits, it is definitely one of the largest children’s museums in the world. No matter what age or interest your child has, he or she is sure to find something amazing that is sure to be memorable. There is an IMAX theater on site, which usually has two films playing at any one time.

If you are childless in Mexico City, but still really wish you could visit the museum, come on Thursday night, when the museum opens up for just grown ups. Admission to the museum is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12, $4 for children over 12, and $4 for adults over 60. The IMAX shows cost $6 for adults and $5 for children.

Travel Tips:

Open on Mondays through Fridays from 9am to 1pm and 2 to 6pm. On Saturdays and Sundays and holidays open from 10am to 2pm and 3 to 7pm. On Thursday nights open from 7 to 11pm.
