Hotel

By Erin Helland

If you are not keen on staying in a hotel that looks as though it could be in Boise, Idaho as easily as in Mexico, Casa González is just the place for you. The place, which is really two houses that were converted, has been housing guests since the 1930s. The rooms are simple, but quaint. The real highlight is the courtyard in between the two buildings. There are lovely gardens, which make for a wonderful place to spend a relaxing afternoon with a book. You can get meals, breakfast is about 7 dollars, and dinner is 12. The meals are of good quality, with large portions. The owners of the hotel are friendly and helpful; they strive to make you feel at home as much as possible. A normal room costs $40 dollars a night; there are a total of 22 rooms in the hotel.

Traveler Reviews of Casa González

Casa Gonzalez

Rating: -10%

Liked: The friendly staff; the beautiful old house;great breakfasts;helpful travel advice; location: proximity to Reforma/Zona Rosa area (It is directly across from British Embassy, near US Embassy), close to transportation; lots of travelers from around the world. Note:this is not a luxurious place. It is a lovely old home converted into a friendly guest house (with a small internet cafe area.) Most (or all?) rooms have private baths.
Didn't like: some rooms are noisy, esp. those facing street.
