The open air terrace at the Spanish Cultural Center is host to weekly house and techno parties, where the young and beautiful of Mexico City flock to boogie until dawn in the shadow of the Cathedral. Drinks are expensive, but you can get local spirits for around $5. The club is popular with backpackers from the nearby Hostal Catedral, giving it an international and, more often than not, raucous atmosphere. There are plenty of chilled-out corners to escape to should you need a break from the revelry.
