Museo de Arte Moderno

Mexico’s vibrant contemporary art scene comes alive at the Museo de Arte Moderno (National Museum of Modern Art) in Chapultepec Park. Founded in 1964, the museum has been a cultural destination for over 40 years. The Museo de Arte Moderno has six circular galleries, four of which hold permanent displays. Artists featured in the permanent displays include Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, Francisco Toledo and David Alfaro Siqueiros. One of the more famous paintings in the permanent exhibit is Frida Khalo’s famed "Las dos Fridas." The other two galleries are occupied by visiting exhibitions. The museum is surrounded by a courtyard that features a large display of modern sculptures.
