If you´re looking for something slightly more up-market than a hostel without breaking the bank, Hotel Washington is a good bet. The hotel itself is old but bright and in good condition (no frayed carpets to trip over here). The strong smell of bleach at least assures you they clean the place thoroughly. The rooms are quite small with hard beds, there´s no common area and the staff aren´t overly friendly but all in all this is a good option if you´re not that bothered about a social scene. It´s ideally located close to the action of the Centro Historico. Free WIFI.
