Nobody who wants a typically Mexican experience should look to the Sheraton to provide it, but the hotel is a safe, if unimaginative, international standard right in front of the Alameda. The hotel restaurants include the bastion of the organic Slow Food movement, El Cardenal, which is packed every night. Wine bars, a spa and swimming pool mean guests can hang out with rich businessmen here for days without needing to venture outside. Rooms are standard Sheraton quality, meaning you know what you're paying for, although the WIFI connection is disappointingly erratic, especially considering the $10 daily charge.
