Puerto Penasco is just a short hour drive across the U.S. border, making it an ideal destination from Arizona, New Mexico and California. The border crossing is extremely easy and the drive is on a very good road.

Puerto Penasco is also known as Rocky Point, and offers accommodations for every budget from camping on the beach to high-rise condo resorts. This is a safe and family friendly beach town and a great place for summer vacations. There are Mexican handcrafts for sale, a small aquarium, and lots of restaurants and fun bars overlooking the Sea of Cortez. The tide changes are intense and there are miles of beach for early morning tide pooling or walks on the beach.
