Getting To and Away From Comitán de Dominguez

BY BUS

Both local and long distance buses stop on the Inter-americana highway (Blvd Doctor Belisario Dominguez Sur) on the outskirts of town so you’d have to bus/taxi it to the center (about $2 bus or $4 taxi).

To get here from Mexico City or Oaxaca, you’d have to take a direct bus to Tuxtla Gutierrez or San Cristobal de las Casas and then change.

ADO and OCC run direct first class buses from San Cristobal, Tuxtla and Palenque to the bus terminal, from where there are frequent colectivos to the center of town.

See the website www.ticketbus.com.mx for timetables and ticket prices for both companies.

BY COMBI

Combis (shared public vans) from the border crossing at Ciudad Cuauhtémoc cost about $3 and leave when full (beware- the last one is at about 7 p.m).
