Restaurante/Bar Doña Chica - Restaurant Mitla - Mexico

Although Doña Chica has passed on, her daughter Angélica keeps her cooking alive with house specialties including quesadillas, botanas and gelatinas like mamá used to make. Her bilingual menu presents a balanced selection, fairly priced, and freshly prepared as you order. Mindful of tourists’ tender tastebuds, Doña Angélica adapted several traditional mole recipes to reduce fire but not flavor of the original. Her mole negro is still sought out by Oaxaca’s connoisseurs—she sells the mole base, but guards the recipe.
