V!VA User‘s Description

In a city that truly appreciates cultural arts, the contemporary photo gallery, Xonaxi Cosana, is no exception.

It is here that the contemporary cultre of Mexico, Oaxaca and Mexican is shown through master photography. Every few months, a new photographer graces teh walls of Xonaxi´s  small, yet light filled gallery on Adolfo Gurrion. The goal of Xonaxi is to promote the work of Mexican photgraphers who embrace artistic diversity, thier homeland and culture.

For appropriate reasons,  Xonaxi Cosana is named after the Zapotec gods of darkness and light. According to the gallery, the relationship between photography and Mexico go far back in history and include famous mexican photo artists such as, Manuel Alvarez Bravo.   Leaving  Xonaxi  Cosana is likey to make one feel inspired by the Mexico today.
