Temazcal treatments, a specialty of Oaxaca, are widely available. These treatments involve sitting in a small clay dome, which is heated up for a period of time. You are then brought out of the dome, wrapped in blankets, and allowed to ‘cool down’. Often during the cool down phase massages are offered. Temazcal treatments are believed to be a very good way to flush toxins from one’s system. Also, the fact that you can only find them in Oaxaca, makes it an unique and unforgettable spa treatment.
