When To Go - Zihuatanejo

There is no bad time to visit Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. However, they do have two main tourist seasons: The summer season brings vacationers from all over Mexico while schools are closed from mid-May to mid-August. The winter season brings foreigners from all over the world from the beginning of November until Easter with the week before Easter, “Semana Santa,” and the week of Easter, “Pascua,” being the busiest time of the year. These weeks are full of Mexican vacationers as well as tourists and “Spring Breakers” from all over the world. Expect prices to be at their highest at this time. Prices are lower during the “off” season. The weather is hot and humid year-round.
