Birrieria Las 9 Esquinas - Restaurant Guadalajara - Mexico

The prettiest, cheeriest restaurant on the Plaza of Nine Corners also happens to have excellent traditional Mexican food, prepared in front of your eyes in a plethora of pots and ovens in a traditional tiled kitchen. A can't-miss dish is the succulent "birria de chivo" (goat stew) served in traditional clay dishes. The breezy dining room with its bright yellow tablecloths contains much to see: a stained-glass goat, oodles of figurines and aphorism-laden pottery. Mellow Mexican ballads are the soundtrack. Try to commandeer one of the dozen or so tables in front.
