Café Madoka - Restaurant Guadalajara - Mexico

Old men playing dominoes form an invitation-only club in the back of this old-school coffee shop-restaurant, where smokers and brown vinyl congregate in harmony. Open since 1959, this is a fine place to study, dawdle over strong coffee, converse (like "tapatio" journalists and politicos used to do), or check your E-mail on free WiFi. You can also watch two big screen TVs. Seating is in booths and scores of tables. The menu is big on breakfast goodies and traditional Mexican favorites. Yummy stacks of fluffy pancakes come with maple syrup and hunks of real butter (42 pesos).
