Caribbean Coast Highlights

Top reasons to visit Nicaragua's Caribbean Coast

  • The nightlife: the area is known for hopping salsa and reggae music and clubs. Just because it's on the mainland doesn't mean that it's not part of the Caribbean!
  • The Language: leave your phrasebook at home. The region was once a British colony and English is more common than Spanish here.
  • The Food: Like the sound of fresh lobster, shrimp and fish? You'll like the prices even better.
  • The town of Laguna de Perlas: This laid-back haven is composed of different native and Garifuna cultures living in harmony and fishing. Great food is a bonus!
  • The Corn Islands: the biggest tourist draw in the region, the Corn Islands are where you'll find beautiful beaches, hip nightlife and an advenced (but not too advanced) tourism infrastructure.
