The Pearl Keys, a set of 18 islands, are located about 145 kilometers (90 miles) offshore from the Pearl Lagoon. Most of the islands are uninhabited, except for a few which are occupied by fisherman. The Pearl Keys are the best place in the area to go fishing and snorkeling, and to see the nesting of the endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle. There are no restaurants or hotels, so make sure to pack a lunch. Trips take about 45 minutes on a panga (small boat) and cost around $90-$350/day, depending on the size of your party.
